October Fun
October was a wonderful month filled with opportunities for learning, discovery and connection at Bursaria Early Learning Centre. Throughout the month, our celebrations encouraged children to explore the world around them, develop healthy habits and recognise the special people in their lives.
Australian Wildlife Week provided a focus for learning about Australia’s unique animals and the importance of caring for nature. This theme supported children’s curiosity about living things and encouraged a growing appreciation for our environment. World Space Week offered another exciting opportunity for discovery, inspiring wonder about the sun, moon, stars and planets while encouraging children to ask questions and use their imaginations.
National Nutrition Week and World Food Day highlighted the importance of nutritious food in helping our bodies grow and stay healthy. These themes created opportunities to talk about different foods, healthy choices and how food connects families and communities. They also encouraged an appreciation of the variety of foods enjoyed around the world.
National Children’s Week was a special opportunity to celebrate every child’s individuality, interests and abilities. Our focus was on nurturing a sense of belonging and supporting children to feel valued, included and heard. Through play and everyday interactions, we continued to encourage friendships, kindness and respect for others.
We also recognised Grandparents’ Day, celebrating the love, care and support that grandparents and grandparent figures bring to children’s lives. This provided a meaningful opportunity to acknowledge family connections and the important role these relationships play in children’s wellbeing and sense of identity.
October has been a month of curiosity, learning and togetherness. We are proud of the children’s growing confidence and enthusiasm, and we look forward to sharing more meaningful experiences with our children and families in November.
