Child Care Subsidy
Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
When you enrol your child in an approved childcare service, you may be entitled to receive the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). To receive the subsidy, we will need certain information from you so we can complete your enrolment. With CCS applied, you will only need to pay the gap fee — the difference between our daily fee and your CCS entitlement.
Please provide:
- Your Customer Reference Number (CRN) and date of birth
- Your child’s CRN and date of birth
Claiming the Child Care Subsidy via Centrelink
To check if you are eligible, log in to myGov and click on "Who can get it" under the Child Care Subsidy section. Alternatively, you can contact your nearest Centrelink service centre.
Centrelink advises it can take four to six weeks for CCS claims to be approved, so we recommend arranging your child’s enrolment in advance. This will help ensure your CCS is approved before your child starts, so you can receive the reduced rate immediately. We can backdate CCS for up to 28 days.
You can track the progress of your claim via myGov or Centrelink, or by calling or visiting your nearest Centrelink service centre.
How to get CRN?
You will need a Customer Reference Number (CRN) to claim Centrelink payments or services.
The quickest way to get a CRN is via myGov:
- Create or sign in to your myGov account.
- Select "Link Centrelink" from the Link a service
- When asked "Do you have or know your CRN?", select "No" and click "Next".
- Select "Get started" and follow the steps for Digital Identity or Centrelink identity verification.
