A Day In The Life
We cater to each child’s needs and are flexible with sleep times, meals, bottles and are connected with their cues.
7:00 – 9:00 | Multi-age Exploration
In the morning, I get to spend time with my younger friends. Sometimes, I show them how to enjoy different activities inside or outside. It makes me feel proud to help and be a role model.
9:00 – 9:30 | Morning Tea
Sometimes we eat outside on benches. I use tongs to choose fruits I like and think about how much to eat—being responsible about my plate. Then I have bread, crackers, or yogurt. I can often smell what’s cooking as I walk past the kitchen!
9:30 – 10:30 | Outdoor Exploration
We play outside in an area just for us preschoolers. I climb, dig in the sandpit, read books, or join activities my educators set up. There are quiet spots and fun active areas, so I always have something to enjoy with my friends and teachers.
10:30 – 12:00 | Indoor Exploration
Inside, I practice skills like counting, drawing, and writing. We have conversations about things like confidence and resilience because my educators say these will help me for life. They watch what I do and add notes and photos to my personal portfolio. This helps me get ready for big school!
12:00 – 12:30 | Lunch
Lunch is served at the table. Meals are healthy and made with care. If I have special dietary needs, my educators make sure I get the right food with clear labels. I can always drink warm or room temperature water throughout the day.
12:30 – 2:00 | Rest Time
We take a shorter rest now as the year goes on, helping me get ready for preschool routines without naps. If I feel sleepy, I can have a short nap, while others read or have quiet time.
1:30 – 3:00 | Quiet Activities
While my younger friends nap, I do quiet activities like reading, drawing, writing, or puzzles. These help me build focus and learn early reading and math skills. My educator is always nearby to help me explore.
3:00 – 3:30 | Afternoon Tea
I get to choose fruits and snacks and practice eating responsibly. We eat lots of fruits and veggies to keep healthy, and my educators share how I’m eating with my family.
3:30 – 4:30 | Outdoor Play
After putting on sunscreen and my hat, I play outside again. I might revisit morning activities or try something new. The outdoor space changes regularly so I can keep exploring. My educators take photos to share with my family on the OWNA app.
4:30 – 5:00 | Pack Away and Tidy Up
My educators remind me five minutes before pack-up so I’m ready. We all help tidy the outdoor area. I like putting things away because it gets the space ready for tomorrow’s fun.
5:00 – 5:30 | Late Snack
We gather at the table for a late snack of fruits, veggies, crackers, or rice cakes. Many friends go home around this time. Sometimes, I ask my educator to read me a story while I wait.
5:30 – 6:00 | Reconnecting with Loved Ones
When my family arrives, my educators share stories and photos from my day. My parents sign me out on the iPad or OWNA app to keep me safe.
