Fun in May

At Bursaria Early Learning Centre, the past month has been filled with exciting learning opportunities, special events, and meaningful experiences for our children and families. We celebrated Mother’s Day with a wonderful afternoon tea, welcoming mums and special family members to spend quality time with the children. Families enjoyed a delicious selection of biscuits, cakes, fresh fruit, and coffee while participating in a range of creative activities. The children loved drawing, painting, and making heartfelt cards to express their appreciation for their mums. It was a lovely opportunity to strengthen family connections and create lasting memories together.

 

Another highlight was a special visit from the local firefighters, who brought their fire truck to the centre. The children were thrilled to climb aboard the truck, press some of the buttons, try on a firefighter’s helmet, and learn about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. The excitement continued as they watched the fire truck depart with its flashing lights and sounding sirens.

 

Our learning programs have continued to flourish across all rooms. In the Billy Button Room, our babies have been actively exploring their environment through sensory experiences, music, movement, and play-based learning. Educators have been supporting children’s physical development as they work towards important milestones such as standing, cruising, and walking independently. In the Waratah Room, children have been engaging in a variety of educational experiences focused on colour recognition, early literacy, and language development. Through games, stories, group discussions, and hands-on activities, children have been learning about letters, developing their communication skills, and building confidence as they participate in new songs and group learning experiences.

 

We are also excited to have introduced several new programs to further enrich children’s learning. Our language program has been warmly embraced by the children, with Educator Pamela teaching Spanish, Educator Kerry introducing Mandarin, and Educator Alexandra sharing Italian language and culture. These experiences provide children with valuable exposure to different languages and help foster an appreciation for diversity from an early age. In addition, we have implemented a rotating dance and movement program held every Wednesday and Thursday, led by Educator Shantelle. Through music, dance, and movement activities, children are developing coordination, confidence, self-expression, listening skills, and a love of physical activity. We look forward to continuing to provide engaging, meaningful, and enriching experiences that support every child’s growth, development, and sense of belonging at Bursaria Early Learning Centre.
