A Day In The Life
We cater to each child’s needs and are flexible with sleep times, meals, bottles and are connected with their cues.
7:00 – 9:00 | Exploring Together
Some mornings, we start outside where I love to dig in the sandpit, paint at the easels, climb on the bars, or look at books. When it’s chilly, we play indoors with fun materials and toys I can explore on my own. I get to choose what I want to do, and my educators are always close to help me learn new things.
9:00 – 9:30 | Morning Tea
At morning tea, I sit with my friends and choose from yummy seasonal fruits and snacks. My educators ask me what I’d like, which makes me feel important and heard. After we eat, my teacher shares with my family how much I enjoyed my snack.
9:30 – 11:00 | Playtime Adventures
I can choose to play inside or outside. Outside, I might have a picnic, kick a ball, climb, or paint. My educators change the outdoor area often so I can discover new things. Inside, I might build with blocks, do little experiments, or make art. These activities help me practice using my hands, focusing, and learning with my friends.
11:30 – 12:00 | Lunch
Lunch is served at the table, and I might use a toddler chair or booster. The meals are tasty and healthy, and if I need special food, my educators make sure I get what’s best for me. Water is always available to keep me refreshed.
12:00 – 12:30 | Learning New Skills
Some of my friends are learning to use the toilet. My educators work with my family to help me learn this in a way that feels good and comfortable. They update my parents on how I’m doing, so everyone helps me in the same way.
12:30 – 2:30 | Nap Time
I sleep on my own bed with my sheets and blanket, all labelled just for me. Sometimes, my family asks that I nap a little less as I get ready for preschool. When I wake, I choose quiet activities like reading a book or drawing, so I don’t wake my friends who are still sleeping.
2:30 – 3:00 | Quiet Play
As more friends wake up, I might explore outside, walk on the balancing beam, or read quietly. These activities help me build confidence and patience.
3:00 – 3:30 | Afternoon Tea
We have afternoon tea with fruit and snacks I pick myself. After eating, I practice scraping my bowl and washing my face and hands to take care of myself.
3:30 – 4:30 | Outdoor Play
After putting on sunscreen and my hat, I play outside again — climbing, building, playing ball games, or exploring nature. Sometimes I try tricky climbs or balancing because I know my educators are close by to keep me safe.
4:30 – 5:00 | Helping Out
It’s time to tidy up! We all help put toys and blocks away. I like carrying the books back inside and getting ready for the next day’s fun.
5:00 – 5:30 | Late Snack
We sit together for a late snack of fruits and veggies while waiting for our families. Sometimes I ask my educator to read me a story.
5:30 – 6:00 | Home Time
When my family comes, my educators share stories and photos of my day. My parents sign me out on the iPad or the OWNA app so we can all stay safe.
