The Framework
The National Quality Framework
At Bursaria Early Learning Centre, we know that high-quality education and care begin with experienced, caring educators who support each child’s unique journey. Our team is committed to working collaboratively with families and the community to provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment.
1) National Law and National Regulations
These laws and regulations outline the responsibilities of approved providers, nominated supervisors, and educators. They also define the role of regulatory authorities and ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority) in overseeing quality standards.
2) National Quality Standards
The NQS sets the national benchmark for excellence in early childhood education and care, covering seven key areas:
- Educational Program and Practice: Supporting children’s learning and play
- Children’s Health and Safety: Keeping children safe and healthy
- Physical Environment: Providing a safe, well-maintained space for children to explore
- Staffing Arrangements: Ensuring qualified educators give children the attention they need
- Relationships with Children: Building warm, supportive connections
- Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities: Respecting family values and involving the local community
- Governance and Leadership: Ensuring a positive, well-managed centre environment
The Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
The VEYLDF guides our educators in planning meaningful programs and observing children’s development. It supports partnerships with families, honours Victoria’s diverse cultures and languages, and recognises different ways children grow and learn. The framework focuses on five key learning outcomes for children from birth to eight years:
Identity: Children develop a strong sense of self
Community: Children learn to connect with and contribute to the world around them
Wellbeing: Children develop physical and emotional wellbeing
Learning: Children become confident, engaged learners
Communication: Children develop skills to express themselves and understand others
